Headway Birmingham & Solihull - Improving life after Brain Injury

Our aim is to promote greater understanding of all aspects of brain injury and to provide support, information and services for people who have sustained brain injury, their families and carers.

This specialist service is designed to give brain injured people the opportunity to re-learn lost skills as well as prevent any further deteriorating or isolation.

This can be done by learning coping strategies, modifying inappropriate behaviour, acquiring new skills and interests, meeting with other brain injured people, understanding their brain injury, improving self confidence and accessing community activities.

Headway Birmingham & Solihull is looking to recruit 2 exceptional people to work as Skills Trainers. The roles are based 1 each at Moseley and Leighton House, Rednal  however you may be required occasionally to travel to our other sites wherever you are based.

  • Oversee the clients’ safety, comfort and well-being at all times whilst at the centre or participating in off-site activities.

  • It would be a advantage for the Skills Trainer to be able to drive the Headway mini bus, transporting clients across from either centre and driving them out into the community.

  • Have Business Insurance use to escort clients in own car as needed

  • Ensure training materials are reviewed / updated and new session plans introduced.

  • Update records after sessions.Produce report and feedback as required, ensuring confidentiality and discretion.
