VACANCY: ABI FLOATING ACTIVITY ASSISTANT
Headway Birmingham & Solihull are looking to recruit a FLOATING ACTIVITY ASSISTANT to work Monday to Friday (25 hours per week) across our 3 hubs based at Headway House Centre in Moseley, Headway site in Rubery and Sutton Coldfield as required.
Location: Birmingham & Solihull
Salary: £12,077pa, grade 4 pay spine 10 (dependent on age and experience)
Hours: 25 hours per week – Monday - Friday

Duties include: -
Plan, prepare and run training sessions within the agreed programme to include areas of educational skills, IT, BI deficits, art & crafts, social skills, communication and attending college courses & social activities
Update records after sessions.Produce reports and feedback as required, ensuring confidentiality and discretion.
Ensure clients are always supervised and responding to daily occurrences during on- and off-site activities.
To predominantly cover offsite activities with an occasional need to cover onsite group sessions with clients.
Current First aid At Work and Driving Category D1 license would be advantageous but not essential
Previous work with groups of disabled individuals in the community would be advantageous
An interest or understanding or various sports would be advantageous along with previous experience of working with people with disabilities and knowledge of brain injury.
Previous experience of working with people with disabilities required and delivering activities an advantage. Experience and knowledge of brain injury is desirable.
NVQ or similar Level 2/Train the Trainer etc. or willing to gain a Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care at own expense. Desirable brain injury experience.
