VACANCY:  ABI SKILLS COACH

Headway Birmingham & Solihull are looking to recruit a BRAIN INJURY SKILLS COACH to work Monday to Friday (35 hours per week) at our Headway House Centre in Moseley and who must also be prepared to work at any Headway site in Rubery and Sutton Coldfield as required.

Location: Birmingham & Solihull

Salary: £18,487.89pa, grade 5 pay spine 3 (dependent on age and experience)

Hours: 35 hours per week – Monday - Friday

Duties include: -

 

· Plan, prepare and run training sessions within the agreed programme to include areas of educational skills, IT, BI deficits, art & crafts, social skills, communication and attending college courses & social activities

· Ensure training materials are reviewed / updated and new session plans introduced

· Overseeing client’s safety, comfort and well-being at all times

· Overseeing client’s safety, comfort and well-being at all times

· Have responsibility for care staff and volunteers under your supervision.

It would be advantageous for the Skills Trainer to be able to drive any Headway vehicle, transporting clients across from either centre and driving them out into the community and have business use insurance to escort clients in own car as needed

Previous experience of working with people with disabilities required and delivering activities an advantage.  Experience and knowledge of brain injury is desirable.

NVQ or similar Level 2/Train the Trainer etc. or willing to gain a Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care at own expense.  Desirable brain injury experience.
