Headway Birmingham & Solihull are recruiting for an Acquired Brain Injury Co-ordinator of NVQ 3 Health & Social Care standard, to organise and control the efficient day-to-day running of the training & activity programmes (onsite and offsite) and contribute to future planning.
To supervise staff and volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the service. To assist the managers as required.
The role is based at our site at Moseley Hall Hospital but the successful candidate will be expected to cover our other sites across North & South Birmingham
Core objectives of the post are:
Ensure clients are supervised at all times.
That staff and volunteers are anticipating and responding to daily occurrences: are attending appropriately to clients’ personal needs, the development of meal-time skills, help with toileting etc, and are noticing and responding to changes in behaviour; epileptic fits, accidents and inappropriate behaviours, overseeing transport arrangements and care of belongings etc
To be responsible for ensuring all staff organise and complete key working tasks with assigned clients, arrange reviews and follow up etc.
To ensure that staff complete all activity monitors and record accurately.
To review activity programmes / session and training materials and produce a new programme annually – to meet client needs.
Previous experience of working with people with disabilities and knowledge of brain injury is desirable.
We will require an enhanced DBS disclosure, expense of which will be met by Headway Birmingham & Solihull.
