Salary:          £27,400 per annum (dependent on experience/qualifications)

Hours:           20-35 hours per week  - to be discussed at interview

(Mon -Fri with some evenings/weekends according to service needs)

Headway Birmingham & Solihull requires an innovative and forward-thinking person to manage and develop our Carer Services Department.  Candidates will need proven management experience preferably within the care/disability sector, strong leadership and interpersonal skills.


This is an exciting opportunity work closely with the Chief Executive fulfilling a key role in the development of our Carer Services.

We are seeking someone with driver and appropriate skills to take this service to the next level.


The candidate will be required to write, develop and present high quality applications and reports to existing and potential funders and therefore, experience of successful bid/grant writing and the ability to establish and develop funding relationships with Charitable Trusts and Public Sectors would be advantageous.


You will have effective communication skills in order to develop strong relationships and take a sensitive approach when dealing with a wide range of vulnerable people and situations. In addition, strong IT skills in Microsoft office and experience of using Excel and databases are essential.


You will be required to manage, develop and support a team of staff and volunteers and ensure successful delivery of services.


Candidates must be experienced in working to performance targets and outcome driven and have good monitoring skills, report writing and presentation skills. 


You will be educated to degree Level or have a NVQ level 4 in Health and Social Care/Management or equivalent.


This role is based in Rubery, but will require the post holder to travel/work at other Headway buildings in Moseley, North of Birmingham as well as travelling across Solihull. A current driving licence is essential, as is ability to use own transport for work purposes.
