Headway Birmingham & Solihull is a Brain Injury Charity. Our Team provide support, services and guidance for people with an Acquired Brain Injury enabling them to improve their independence at home and in the community leading to an improved quality of life.


Location: Birmingham & Solihull - based at Sutton Coldfield & Moseley occasional cover at Rubery

Salary: starting at £9.80 per hour grade 3 pay spine 1

Hours: 25 hours per week – Monday to Friday 9.30am-2.30pm

Duties include: -

  • Assist our clients onto the minibus using the correct procedures and ensuring that client risks are observed when seating.

  • Take responsibility for ensuring that all clients are present for both outward and homeward journeys.

  • Plan journeys and preparation tasks to ensure that arrival/departure times meet activity and other centre requirements.

  • Be responsible for completing the vehicle check sheets and ensuring vehicle safety.

  • Drive the minibus safely and legally at all times/ensure the minibus remains safe, legal and tidy.

  • Stay with clients during the offsite activity and assist with supervision and client participation.

Candidates should be able to drive a minibus, possess a full clean driving licence with D1 Category, ideally experience of working with people with a disability, have a friendly manner, a good sense of humour, neat and clean appearance and be able to exercise calmness, patience and tolerance.


The successful candidate will require an enhanced DBS disclosure. Disclosure expense to be met by employer.
