Headway Birmingham & Solihull are a leading Brain Injury Charity.  Our ABI Services Team provide support, services and guidance for people with an Acquired Brain Injury enabling them to improve their independence at home and in the community leading to an improved quality of life.




Headway Birmingham & Solihull are looking to recruit an ABI Skills Trainer to work Monday to Friday (35 hours per week) across our 3 centres based in north and south Birmingham and

must be prepared to work at any Headway site as required.


Duties include: -


  • Plan, prepare and run training sessions within the agreed programme to include areas of educational skills, IT, BI deficits, art & crafts, social skills, communication and attending college courses & social activities


  • Ensure training materials are reviewed / updated and new session plans introduced


  • It would be advantageous for the Skills Trainer to be able to drive any Headway vehicle, transporting clients across from either centre and driving them out into the community.


  • Have business insurance use to escort clients in own car as needed


  • Overseeing client’s safety, comfort and well-being at all times


  • Have responsibility for care staff and volunteers under your supervision.


Previous experience of working with people with disabilities and knowledge of brain injury is desirable.


The successful applicant will be required to provide an enhanced disclosure. Expense will be met by employer.
